Alicia Keys was spotted rocking a leather mini and Patricia Fields pumps for her album release in Japan. Looking FIERCE there Ms. Keys. I would have definitely worn different colored tights but hey that's just me. ;-*

Fashion Faux Pas- Kelis

WTF was she thinking? Kelis caused many raised eyebrows by going out in public like this. So much that she caught the attention of PETA. They sent her a letter calling her out for killing animals for fur and she responded right back. Here is her long drawn-out response to PETA. Lord be with anyone who fully reads this cry for attention! lol
"There is no humane way to kill anything, let me start there. It’s unfortunate but it’s part of life. With that being said, I would eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious. And after doing a very minimal amount of research……. I found out that the founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty. I had a feeling but she far exceeded my expectations. I mean certifiably insane! Lol this chicks will is nuts, google it – it’s a riot! Beyond the fact that I think she’s a diabetic, which means she needs insulin, which is taken from lab pigs (I know this because my sister happens to be in veterinary school), which would be completely hypocritical. It’s like don’t abuse animals unless it can help me.
I feel very strongly about a lot of things such as the sweatshops that spin cotton and the blood on their hands. Btw it’s not just the look of fur. It’s warm as hell and feels glorious, ever rubbed faux fur on your body? Nothing luxurious about that. Then the letter proceeded to name artist and designers who don’t wear real fur. Great! More for me! I don’t judge them, don’t judge me.
If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me. (Which btw for the record I would not – I do believe in the preservation of endangered species) But the minks and chinchilla that quite honestly are rodents and if weren’t in the form of a coat I would demand they be put to death anyway are not an issue to me.
The death of high fashion. Ugh.
I eat meat, and in fact my mouth salivates as I type the word meat! And the paint throwing that’s just ridiculous! What if I was hurling Loubitons and Pierre Hardy’s at every sad poorly dressed person on the street? As right as I may be it’s just fanatical and crazy. And people have the right to feel as they please. What about art? Survival of the fittest. Natural selection? No let’s just let all the rodents run free and over take our cities. Oh wait they have, NY and LA in particular are infested! Why don’t u save them all from scavenging on the streets and ruining my evening strolls, take them home. Make them pets! Get off my back! Pun intended!
Underpaid minorities picking your vegetables, now that’s fine for you right? Please, fight for their rights. How about the poverty in the communities of brown people around the world. She had the nerve to say (and I quote) “get over it” talking of the issue of black people and slavery in this country verses cows being slaughtered. Is she kidding me? Lol yes she must be. Actually, she’s lucky most black people have real issues to worry about in the U.S and don’t give a crap what her delusional privileged opinions are. But she should try saying that again just for kicks n giggles on the corner of Adam Clayton Powell Blvd in Harlem n see how well people “get over it” lol.
If u want to preach do it about something worthwhile don’t waste my time trying to save the dang chipmunk.
Find a worthwhile cause like the women being maimed in these Middle Eastern countries. Or female circumcision. Or women’s rights here in America, we still get paid less for doing the same jobs as men. Quite honestly if you hate the world so much go live in the forest where no one else has to hear you complain about the perfectly good food chain the good Lord created. Everyone has the right to an opinion, and that’s mine on that! xoxo"

Thank God for ANGELA Simmons!

Angela Simmons just twitpic'ed these oh so FIERCEFLY shoes! I have no idea where she found these and who even makes the shoe but damn- if these aren't the cutest shoes I've stumbled upon lately! Enjoy! ;-*

Why Black Women Should Stay Together

To be perfectly honest- we are living in a world where prejudice is something that goes un-noticed. But how does the rest of the world view black women? Loud? Bad Attitudes? Can't get along with each other? Well why do the world and ourselves a favor and prove them wrong! Here are top five reasons why Black women should stick together!

1. We won't let anyone else beat our kids! lol

2. Who else is going to understand our bad hair days?

3. Your sister will always have your back- even when your in the wrong!

4. You will always know where your man is at, full police report type shit!

5. Who else is going to hold us down?

-add your reasons in a comment! ;-*

Wrap It Up

So you know I had to blog about this ever-spreading epidemic that causes waves and waves of after math effects. UNPROTECTED SEX. Many of us do it- and I think all fashionistas should stand against this and all agree that condoms are en vogue! It only takes a second to put on a Jimmy Hat and if you live in the New York area there is no excuse! Free condoms are everywhere around the city! Any party or festival you go to they throw them at you encouraging you to use them so follow through! Wear a condom every time! And a tip for the ladies; ALWAYS carry condoms with you. Don't leave it up to the men. Think about it- if we left the responsibility to them then who is to blame when we are late on our period? You know the dangers so lets all be responsible in 2010! much love ;-*

Bella Terra Shimmer 9 Stack

This phenomenal product retails for about 69.99 but it is totally worth it! Bella Terra Cosmetics are an all natural line of makeup and the 9 stack shimmers are 100% natural minerals. Bella Terra is made for the most sensitive skin in mind. These shimmers easily blend and can become nail polish when blended with clear nail polish. These shimmers can be blended with lotion for an all over body shimmer effect. They become lip gloss when blended with clear lip gloss and so on. The 9 stack pictured was a gift from my best friend Shaika and it is called "Mother of Pearl". This 9 stack is a great investment for those of you looking for something very versatile.

HIP Duo Eyeshadows

What I love about these eye shadows is that they can be found at your local drugstore- Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade (for my new yorkers), etc. HIP stands for high intensity pigments and boy do they fit their name! Although I suggest to always use eyeshadow primer always- with these eye shadows you don't need it! They are high quality and economical. They retail at about 8 us dollars. Perfect for my frugalistas! ;-*

Rihanna on the cover of W Mag

Rihanna surfaced on the face of W magazine and looked quite FIERCE! She wore a white cut out Gucci dress and jewelry from my favorite - Chanel, Dior, and Ivanka Trump. She actually "werked" her whole shoot for this months' issue. The spread consisted of black and white solo pics from yours truly. Although I do not support this chicks whack-ass music; When you kill it I will give you props! ;-*

Look out for Keyshia Dior

I remember when I first discovered who this fellow fashionista was- I was on twitter and someone mentioned her and I saw a picture of her partying it up with Young Money. I fell in love with her curly mohawk and blue lipstick (her trademark). So I decided to some research and I thought that you guys should be on the look out for this celeb stylist/actress/model. See is featured in Timberland's newest video "Say Something" feat Drake. I also follow her on twitter and she's pretty cool, always responding to fans. She's on my Bad Bitch list!

Kinky Curly v. Miss Jessies

For all of my natural sista's- this ones for you! As a natural woman myself I've been on the constant search for products on how to up-keep my natural locks- and these two products were by far the two the most popular product lines for natural hair. Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding is a leave-in conditioner that brings out your natural curl pattern by giving the hair cuticle weight. It costs 38.oo and comes in three different sizes. What I like about the Curly Pudding was the consistency- it was true to its pudding name but i did NOT like the smell of this product. The smell was very strong and grape like- almost like Robitussin. :( I also did not like the way my hair came out- I have 4a/4b curls and I wasn't satisfied with the curl. Kinky Curly Curling Custard is a clear cement glue like custard that smells amazing! It definitely smells like some kind of vanilla baked cookies. After a couple of days, this product starts to flake and it gets annoying. If you buy Kinky Curly Curling Custard be sure to buy the whole line of products to make sure of your hair not looking flaky. Besides that i liked the way my hair came out- very corkscrewish. This product retails at 29.99. Overall I would recommend the Kinky Curly Curling Custard over Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding due to the better outcome of curls with Kinky Curly. But I encourage you to try both- different strokes for different folks.

Christian Lacroix Dress

This cute little number from the Spring '09 collection of Christian Lacroix was the runner up for Best Dressed Woman of the week. My condolences go out to the Lacroix brand for currently being out of business but it is an amazing honor for celebs to still be wearing your clothing. Ginnifer Goodwin fit this dresses personality to the "tee". The dress is very whimsical and her pixie hair cut adds to the whole Tinkerbell look. Love it!

Antonio Berardi Dress

Jessica Alba rocked a cute metallic dress by Antonio Berardi to the Peoples Choice Awards and broke necks! I believe she looks better in it than the model on the runway! Her petite body and tan skin set the dress off nicely. This Italian designer seems to have made this dress with her in mind! Jessica gets the best dressed woman of the week award! and Antonio Berardi is a genius for taking such a creative and detailed spin on the little mini dress! :-* muah!

Too Faced Lash Injection Macara

Being that I'm a makeup fanatic I will spend a pretty penny for my products; I'm here to let you know if they are really worth it? Being that we are in a recession I'm giving my followers free reviews of makeup! So here we go! Too Faced is a company that is sold online and carried in any Sephora store. I own three products from this company and not very impressed with them except for there Lash Injection Mascara. If you don't have any eye lashes like myself ;) then this Mascara will do miracles for your lashes. It adds volume, length, and thickness giving the effect of falsies! I love love this product! It also has a citrus scent which is a pleasant way to feel energized in the morning when putting on my face! This product retails at 18.00 but its definitely worth it!
Can you see the difference?

The Crisis in Haiti

As many of you are aware; the country of Haiti was hit by a 7.0 earthquake yesterday in the capital Port Au Prince. The capital carrying over 2 million people was destroyed and many of the survivors were left to search for family members under the gravel. Hospitals, schools and the main prison collapsed. This country is crying for our help; even before the earthquake the country was under turmoil being the most impoverished country in the Western Hemisphere. As fashionistas we can help by sending old clothes that we don't wear or things that are out of season and bottled water and food. UPS is shipping anything under 50 pounds to Haiti for free. Our little contributions can go a long way! Lets come to together. Even if you have nothing to give everyone can give prayer to Haiti. Prayer is the greatest gift we can give anyone.

Au Natural (to be or not to be)

My love affair with my naps has been a bumpy road. My first big chop (BC) was in the spring of 2006, but that failed when i got a relaxer and a rihanna-esk hair cut. But I missed my naps so in the late summer of 2009 I cut all of my relaxed hair off and tried to do the au natural thing again. In 2009 was my first year in college and I was feeling a great sense of black pride which is why I am blogging to you today. I really wanted to know what you guys think of the whole natural phenomenon. I'm at the stage where my hair isn't my desired length and lately I've just been rocking wigs. Should I hold on to my curly ques or should i become another victim of the black hair salons? I promised myself I'd keep my hair natural until my one year anniversary of nappiness in august. But after august where do I go next? Ladies- if your trying to stay natural stay tuned for my product reviews! But the question still lies- au natural... to be or not to be...

Trend Alert! Skimmers/Skippers

For this season lets just all agree NO ONE wants to prance around on a lovely spring day in 4-inch heels. While you ladies are out enjoying the weather there should be no need to walk home barefoot to your dr.scholl's corn band-aids ;). The skimmer look is definitely a comfortable and cute way to work your outfit this spring. Enjoy cute flats and enjoy cute feet!

Trend Alert! Military/Band Jackets

These light-weight jackets are perfect for spring! These jackets are everywhere! Celeb tabloids to the streets of new york. This jacket gives flair to a simple dress or to your favorite pair of jeans! They come in all different styles- I personally prefer the cute little cropped ones. Regardless if you like the boyfriend fit for comfort or the cropped fit to show off your figure the Military jacket is a classic wardrobe item.

Trend Alert! Nauti Nautical

Feeling nauti? You should its spring and those skirts wont fly up by themselves! This spring try something inspired by the men in blue. Vertical stripes and primary colors always give the touch of nautical. Spice it up with a boater hat and some anchor earrings. This season its about simplicity so don't overdo accessories! Keep it fun. simple. and "nauti".

Trend Alert! Shoulders!

Shoulder Shoulder Shoulder! Its all about the embellishment of your shoulders this spring! Whether it's shoulder pads, sequins, or studs the shoulder has created a launching pad for this springs creative juices to flow. Spring 2010 is definitely paying homage to the 80's inspired look and can I say that I am actually really feeling this. The look of big shoulders compliments any figure and it gives a very slimming view to the eye. Be ready to show off your new figure with this old trick! :)

Valentine's Day Massacre

OK so no this blog isn't about the massacre that occurred in the roaring twenties and left many civilians dead. This is about the dreaded holiday for a single girl like myself- Valentine's Day. It's the day a man proves to you how much he loves you with roses and candy. Lately its been about solely getting laid (thnx to the jerks out there). But what's a girl to do on Valentine's Day? Well I've got a couple of good ideas! A. Have a "Single Ladies" night out. Grab all your single friends and go to a local bar or lounge. Get some drinks and celebrate the fact that you don't have to fake another orgasm for your ex tonight. :) B. Go out to dinner alone. Yes- this may sound very desperate but who knows. You may snag up a cute single waiter who had to work on the holiday.Or you may have to console a guy who got stood up at a restaurant. Ladies- the possibilities are endless! I know one thing... I wont be home feeling sorry for myself on Valentine's Day!

Black Men... a dying breed

Here is a youtube video explaining why 42% of black women are single and no its not because we all have fucked up attitudes. This 7 minuets of video actually gives facts and statics to this burning question! Black women wise up! If you have a good black man; keep him and don't you ever let go!
